La Femme Desperado sets records with 2630000 viewers Watches the ending with Mum
Sheren Tang, Melissa Ng and Raymond Lam’s La Femme Desperado aired its ending on Mother’s Day. Even though it was Mother’s Day and many people had gone out to celebrate, it didn’t affect their eagerness to watch this ending, and the highest ratings were forty-one points, attracting over 2630000 viewers, breaking this year’s record for all the series that aired on weekends. Sheren Tang said that she wanted to thank all the mothers in Hong Kong!
Yesterday, TVB’s External affairs executive Tsang Sing Ming said, “La Femme Desperado’s ratings is the highest out of all the series aired on Sundays, peaking at forty-one points with an average of thirty-seven points. It even beat A Pillowcase of Mystery’s average ratings, though A Pillowcase of Mystery peaked at thirty-nine points.”
And for La Femme Desperado’s ratings having always been very high, Sheren, Melissa, Michael and others of the cast and the crew celebrated together with a dinner. Yesterday, Sheren said, “Originally this was my treat, but everyone was very happy and all fought to pay the bills, so in the end Melissa, Michael and I paid the bills together. As to whether or not we’ll celebrate again later, that’ll wait for the company’s decision.”
Sheren eats ice blocks as a reward
Towards the series’ ending having broken past records, Sheren said, “I have to thank all the mothers in Hong Kong, because if it weren’t for the mothers saying that they should go home earlier to watch T.V. the ratings may not have been this good.” As to whether or not she’ll reward herself, Sheren laughed and said, “I’m rewarding myself already! At the moment I’m having an ice block, this is already a good enough reward.” Sheren expressed that her expectations are simple, because she’s scared that she’ll put on weight, she never eats ice cream, but seeing that the series did so well, she decided to have one ice block to congratulate herself.
Melissa wants to film a sequel
Melissa also expressed that she was very happy, that the producer, Poon Ka Tak, had phoned her bringing this good news. Melissa said, “To be honest, at first I was rather worried, because I knew Sunday was Mother’s Day, meaning a lot of people would be going out to celebrate. After all, it was a big celebration. But now that the ratings actually reached forty-one points, I’m really very happy, because after all this is only a twenty-episode series. When I was filming this series I was really happy working with the others of the cast and crew and there was chemistry between us, as well, with Sheren, Raymond and the others.” As to whether or not she would want to film a sequel? “Of course I would!” And will she want to go out with Sheren and the producer again for another celebration? “Yes, I will!”
Raymond understands women more
Raymond, being in Shanghai filming a series at the moment, was very happy when he received this news, but too bad he didn’t get the watch the ending. This time in the series Raymond’s character Siu Chai was very popular. Raymond expressed that in actual fact, he had included some of his own thoughts into this character, and also now that he has finished this series, he understands women better. But he is really happy because before he had been filming ancient series one after the other, and this time he was filming a modern series and it received great results.

La Femme Desperado’s ending’s ratings break records

After War and Beauty and Square Pegs, TVB has once again created another masterpiece. Last week, la Femme Desperado’s ratings averaged thirty-four points, peaking at thirty-eight points, and the ending, which was aired on the weekend, received forty-one points. The viewers exceeded 2600000, becoming the TVB series that received the highest ratings out of all the series that were aired on weekends this year.
La Femme Desperado, starring Sheren Tang, Melissa Ng, Michael Tse and Raymond Lam, was accused of being a cheap production, but grand production Dance of Passion, no matter in what aspects, lost to La Femme Desperado. Airing last week were La Femme Desperado’s ending episodes. Melissa, Raymond and Cindy’s triangle relationship dissolved, Sheren and Michael’s love and hatred was resolved, causing the ratings to go soaring. Last week’s ratings averaged thirty-four points, rising by one point, with its highest rating at thirty-eight points.
However, the most impressive was definitely the La Femme Desperado special, which was aired on Sunday. The cast talked about the endurances of women and the series’ plot, plus it aired the double ending. The ratings averaged thirty-seven points, the highest being forty-one points (having risen by sixteen points). According to a TVB execute, Tsang Sing Ming, this has become the highest ratings for any series airing on weekends this year. Mr. Tsang also expressed that Bobby Au Yeung’s A Pillowcase of Mystery only reached thirty-nine points.

La Femme Desperado breaks records
TVB’s La Femme Desperado has always been scoring well ratings. Ratings have always exceeded thirty points. The ending scored high ratings for TVB as well. In order to boost the ratings, TVB had especially chosen to air the ending on Mother’s Day, even inviting Carol Cheng and the main leads of the series to film a special, “A women really is not easy to be.” This special was arranged to air before and after the ending, and the results of this promotion were very successful.
According to the latest ratings report, La Femme Desperado’s average ratings were thirty-seven points. The series also had two different endings aired, with the second ending receiving higher ratings, averaging at thirty-eight points. At the point where Siu Chai, Ko Ling, Hoi Kiu and the despicable man’s relationship was revealed, the ratings peaked at forty-one points, breaking this year’s TVB record of having the highest ratings of any series. When A Pillowcase of Mystery aired earlier, the highest ratings it received were only thirty-nine points, with the average rating being thirty-seven points. At the same time, two of ATV’s shows’ ratings dropped dramatically by one to six points, due to the fact that most of the men in the house were going by what the women wanted and not changing the channel to watch these shows, instead watching the La Femme Desperado special.
The special was to give the ratings a boost and it received an average of thirty-four points, this result being pretty good and bringing some profit. However, following this series’ broadcast will be Prince turned Frog, which didn’t appear to appeal to the audience as it only received eighteen points for the ratings. In other words, as soon as the ending to La Femme Desperado finished airing, over half of the viewers turned off their T.V.
As to the two channels’ ratings for the last week, La Femme Desperado’s highest rating was thirty-eight points, with an average of thirty-four points. As to grand production Dance of Passion, its average rating was thirty points, peaking at thirty-five points; there was no drop. Similarly, Ko Pang Moon Jo’s ratings hadn’t dropped at all, its average being twenty-eight points, peaking at thirty-two points. La Femme Desperado had beaten Dance of Passion. The ratings for ATV’s shows maintained a single digit number, no great breakthrough.
Sheren Tang thanks all the mothers in Hong Kong
The cast of La Femme Desperado, Sheren Tang, Melissa Ng, Raymond Lam and Michael Tse were very happy towards this rating. Sheren, Melissa and Michael put together their money and treated all the actors and the crew to a dinner.
As to the endings being arranged to air on Mother’s Day, Sheren very happily said, “a lot of audiences said that because they had to get home to watch the ending, they had to have their Mother’s Day celebration dinner earlier, so I have to thank all the mothers in Hong Kong! They’re the bosses of everyone and if it weren’t for them, the ending wouldn’t have been so good!” The series has also turned Sheren into the paparazzi’s target and she is listening to a doctor’s advice, relaxing herself to avoid causing her muscles to become sensitive.

Dance of Passion loses yet again Sheren Tang manages to grab 2640000 viewers
La Femme Desperado, starring Sheren Tang, Melissa Ng, Raymond Lam and Michael Tse aired its two-hour ending last Sunday. The average ratings were thirty-one points (with 2380000) views, and its highest ratings peaked at forty-one points (approximately 2640000 viewers), breaking this year’s record for having the highest ratings of all series airing on weekends. The ratings had definitely risen a lot towards the end, and in the APM mall, close to a hundred chairs were set out for the citizens to be able to watch the ending.
Beating Dance of Passion by one point
The ending had two versions to it. The first version said that Sheren admitted to Michael that he was the father of her daughter, but Michael hadn’t been able to realise the true meaning of those words. The ratings reached forty-one points. As to the second version, Michael finds out that he does have a daughter and was very touched and surprised. The ratings were thirty-nine points (approximately 2510000 viewers).

TVB series La Femme Desperado aired a two-hour long ending on Sunday. The highest ratings reached forty-one points, with 2630000 viewers. The highest viewing ratio was 94%, winning the title of having the highest ratings out of all the series aired on weekends in 2006. The average ratings of the week were thirty-four points, one point higher that Dance of Passion’s thirty-three points.
La Femme Desperado has always been a series that was the topic of discussion, especially their theme of sister-brother relationships. TVB came up with a different way of broadcasting the ending for this series. At eight o’clock they aired the half hour program, “A women really isn’t easy to be,” hosted by Carol Cheng, who talked to the series’ main cast about the storyline of the series. The average ratings were twenty-four points. The actual series aired between eight-thirty and ten-twenty, and received an average rating of thirty-seven points, tying with A Pillowcase of Mystery, which aired in February this year and also had an average rating of thirty-seven points. As to the last part of La Femme Desperado, it received forty-one points. Sunday being Mother’s Day, there were probably many mothers watching this series.
Internet surfers – “My favourite” Leung Ka Yan
This series had a double ending, the first version of the ending was where that despicable man never found out that he was the father of Sheren’s daughter, and Ko Ling didn’t marry Siu Chai. Following was the second version, where the ending was more of a happy one. Ko Ling agreed to marry Siu Chai, and that despicable man also found out that he was the girl’s real father. The second ending received thirty-eight points, having approximately 2500000 viewers.
The two endings both had their own supporters. Besides some people discussing the topic on the Internet, there were also people who requested for TVB to film a sequel to La Femme Desperado using the original cast. The favourite character poll winner for this series was Leung Ka Yan, who played Ko Ling’s father. 33% of the votes went to him. Next was Ko Ling (Melissa), with 18% of the votes and surprising, Hoi Kiu (Sheren) came seventh, with 2% of votes.
Melissa and Sheren like the happy ending
La Femme Desperado’s cast and crew were very happy to receive such great results. Melissa expressed that she and Sheren both preferred the second version of the series, because it was a happy ending. However, the first one showed the characters’ maturity. Melissa expressed that at first she was worried that Sunday, being Mother’s Day, would affect the ratings, but it the breakthrough in the ratings really pleased her. As to her character, Ko Ling, coming second in the favourite character poll, she expressed that she was very happy to have fans’ support, and that in the series, there was chemistry between all the character pairings. She expressed that the themes in La Femme Desperado has even become a social topic. Having become a popular character, Melissa expressed that lately the number of advertisements and performances have increased. She and Raymond will be going to Canada for a performance, too. As to whether or not she agrees with filming a sequel, Melissa said that it would be a good thing, but this ending has left a good impression and leaving it as it is would be good, too.

La Femme Desperado finale ratings break records
The ratings for La Femme Desperado’s finale were very good and Melissa has a high chance of winning the best actress award this year
Even when Dance of Passion strongly launched its attack, Sheren Tang and Melissa Ng’s La Femme Desperado continued doing well. Its finale broke the records of having the highest ratings of all the series aired on Sundays this year, and afterwards Sheren Tang thanked all the mothers in Hong Kong for their support, otherwise they couldn’t have achieved some a good result.
Last week, La Femme Desperado may say to have outshined others. Grand production Dance of Passion was only able to achieve an average rating of thirty-three months (with approximately 2120000 viewers). Instead, La Femme Desperado’s average ratings beat Dance of Passion’s by a point; it reached thirty-four points.
But Sunday’s finale was even more impressive. First was the original version of the ending, and it received thirty-seven points, beating the normal show which aired on Sunday by sixteen points, at the same time putting down A Pillowcase of Mystery, whose ending also aired on a Sunday. La Femme Desperado’s highest ratings were forty-one points, with over 2630000 viewers, beating A Pillowcase of Mystery’s thirty-nine points and becoming the Sunday show with the highest ratings. And airing straight after the second version of the ending was the La Femme Desperado special, which received averaged ratings of thirty-eight points – indicating that the audience were extremely caring for Sheren and Michael, and Melissa these two couples’ results.
