Sixth Uncle’s Dinner Party | Friday, May 05, 2006
Apple Daily Sixth Uncle’s Dinner Party The young actors’ statuses are seen ||
Musician Lau Ka Cheung, who had always had a close friendship with Sir Run Run Shaw (Sixth Uncle), will be celebrating Sixth Uncle’s 99th birthday (which falls in October) earlier with his concert next month. The night before, Lau Ka Cheung and his wife specially held a banquet at Ching Sui Wan, inviting Sixth Uncle and his wife (known as Sixth Aunt) for a hot pot dinner. Sits around singing karaoke to add to the fun This time, besides inviting the national Political Consultative Conference vice-president, Dong Kin Wah’s wife, Dong Chiu Hung Ping to attend the banquet, Sixth Aunt also organised for TVB executives Lok Yi Ling and Chan Chi Wan to invite some of TVB’s highly promoted actors and actresses of the younger generation of the event. Leo Ku and Andy Hui both will be part of the concert as guest singers, and both were invited. Leo even drove his rumoured girlfriend, his female assistant Lorriane, to the dinner party. That evening at six o’clock, Sixth uncle and Sixth Aunt arrived at the location, followed by a large group of artists who arrived shortly afterwards, one after another. The actors included Kevin Cheng, Ron Ng, Raymond Lam, Raymond Cho, Steven Ma and others, while the actresses included Angela Tong, Bernice Liu, Myolie Wu, Nadia Chan and others. To be able to be picked as guests of this dinner party, to sit around plus sing some karaoke to entertain, the fact that these actors are favoured is true without a doubt. Two years ago, Kenneth Ma and Sammul Chan were a part of TVB’s “Five Tigers” with Ron Ng, Raymond Lam and Bosco Wong, but they had now vanished completely, due to the fact that these two actors’ series weren’t doing well, therefore lowering their ranks until they were no longer favoured. Mrs Dong left the event at ten o’clock, but the group of artists were there until after midnight. Raymond Lam takes over the microphone It was known that during the dinner party, there was an activity of karaoke going on, with musicians performing live. Lau Ka Cheung and Sixth Aunt began with singing an English song together, and the artists clapped for them immediately. Following that, executive Chan Chi Wan sang one of Lau Ka Cheung’s classics with Nadia Chan. Lok Yi Ling really enjoyed it and requested for Nadia to sing it again by herself. By this time, Sixth Aunt and Lau Ka Chung were up and dancing. On the other hand, Raymond was getting more and more absorbed in his karaoke, taking over the microphone and singing a few songs in a row. The dinner party’s main theme was a hot pot dinner and there were three long tables set, each table sitting nearly twenty people. There was one hot pot between two people, quite intimate. During the time, the artists were always seen surrounding Sixth Aunt, appearing quite busy. As for the food, there was freshwater mussel, abalone, and sweet potato, various kinds of meat and vegetables and so on.

Winter_Stargirl: Surprise, surprise! New layout ^^ It's kinda random, but hope you guys still like it! It doesn't particularly match the upcoming celebrations of Christmas and New Year, though; perhaps I can try and make one for Chinese New Year? A gold and red colour scheme?

The Beehive thanks ...
Fung's Label, Raymond's previous official website and its
webmistress, Sasa, for providing so much of Raymond's news and
information. Without FL, many of Raymond's fans would've been
like little losties, without any clue as to where to find
Raymond's news. FL kept us informed and updated for a total of
2 years. It officially closed on the 21st August 2006, but I
would still always remember it.
52raymond.com, also known as the Lam House.
It was my source of Raymond's media. The fans
there updated new clips or songs of Raymond's very quickly. It
was a brilliant forum, a true home to Raymond's fans. It
officially closed on the 1st September 2006, but I would still
always remember it.
Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the
Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with
translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics
and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in
The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
