Kevin Cheng 2007 Calendar has a Thai Feeling

In order to promote its artists, every year TVB would print an official calendar and distribute them to overseas rental stores and clients, but this year, TVB wanted something of a breakthrough, and so spent a seven-digit sum and handing the project to a high-class Thailand photography studio, hoping to bring something new to their audience.

Earlier, Kevin Cheng, Ron Ng and Raymond Lam had been in Thailand to promote TVB, and were requested by one of the Thai magazines, IMAGE, for a photoshoot. Whether it was the costumes, the make up or the styling, it was all done by the magazine, and Kevin was even selected to be featured on the cover. Due to the fact that TVB was very satisfied with the photoshoots, TVB executive Virginia Lok especially visited Thailand and asked the company to shoot the TVB Calendar photos. They agreed straight away but asked for TVB not to interrupt or try to give opinions of their own.

When Virginia Lok was asked whether or not this was true, she admitted that later there will be a crew of eighteen people coming to Hong Kong from Thailand to shoot the 2007 calendar. Other than TVB providing the artists, everything else, from styles to make up, will be done by the Thai company.

She said, "I'm very glad that TVB is supporting, because I feel that the first impressions of the artists are the most lasting, and also because the artists are used to having make up artists and hairdressers, so there won't be too big a change. This time, as the authority given to someone else, the artists will be presented by an outside-person, and I believe that there will be some new sparks appearing."

Being Mistaken for an Indian

Yesterday, Ron Ng acted as a guest performer for a Thailand TV Show, Real Person Show, dancing with the participants of the show, but when asked whether the darkly tanned Ron was ever mistaken for a Thai, he shook his head and said, "No, but when I was little my older sister and I were always being mistaken as Indians, maybe it's because my features are rather deep."

The Beehive thanks ...
Fung's Label, Raymond's previous official website and its webmistress, Sasa, for providing so much of Raymond's news and information. Without FL, many of Raymond's fans would've been like little losties, without any clue as to where to find Raymond's news. FL kept us informed and updated for a total of 2 years. It officially closed on the 21st August 2006, but I would still always remember it.

52raymond.com, also known as the Lam House. It was my source of Raymond's media. The fans there updated new clips or songs of Raymond's very quickly. It was a brilliant forum, a true home to Raymond's fans. It officially closed on the 1st September 2006, but I would still always remember it.

Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
