Raymond's Return to Xiamen | Friday, August 04, 2006
 Wenwei Pao
Earlier, Raymond Lam travelled to Xiamen to attend the opening ceremony of the Fourth World Choir Games and took on the role of a guest performer. Dressed as a white Prince Charming, he sang the song Meeting in Xiamen. The International Choir Games is the largest singing contest in the world, with five participating continents, over eighty countries and over four hundred choir groups. On the day there were also over ten groups of champion singers performing. It was a very grand event and even the president Hu Jin Tao sent his congratulations, so no wonder Raymond Lam said, "I am honoured to be able to be part of this time's performance."
Participants coming from five different continents
Raymond Lam was nervous on the day of the performance, because the singers there were all at a champion level. This time's Meeting in Xiamen is a very serious artistic song and there is a certain degree of difficulty. However, fortunately Raymond has learnt singing before when he was little. When he was performing, the entire audience applauded and complimented him, and even the mayor of Xiamen praised that his singing was good.
Raymond, though, modestly said, "To be honest, I'm not too satisfied. I think it can still be a bit better. After coming back from filming in Shanghai I've practised it a few times, but I was nervous because besides having to face the professional singers, this is also my hometown and a very grand event." Asking whether or not he has a "returning home with riches and honours" feeling, Raymond expressed that he only felt fortunate that he was invited. The organization committee had asked him to perform tonight because they had seen his performance of the song, The Same Song, at a party at his old school. The reaction was enthusiastic and also because Raymond's sunny and healthy image was very suitable.
Home is in Xiamen, Relatives Come to Support
Due to the fact that the competitors came from all across the world, there were many different flags hung up. During the rehearsal, when Raymond saw the Hong Kong China flag, he was jumping with joy. Raymond's parents were also very nervous and his wonderful Mum even especially brought him soup, allowing him to keep his mouth moistened and perform at his best.
Raymond was originally from Xiamen and his parents, family and friends are also all in Xiamen. There, he also has many fans and so there were continually people asking to take a picture with him. When he got off the plane at the airport, there were over ten fans of the Fujian Fans Club there waiting for him with flowers and presents. Raymond's stay in Xiamen this time was very short, because he has to return to Hong Kong to film Lay Ka Ho's new series.

Winter_Stargirl: Surprise, surprise! New layout ^^ It's kinda random, but hope you guys still like it! It doesn't particularly match the upcoming celebrations of Christmas and New Year, though; perhaps I can try and make one for Chinese New Year? A gold and red colour scheme?

The Beehive thanks ...
Fung's Label, Raymond's previous official website and its
webmistress, Sasa, for providing so much of Raymond's news and
information. Without FL, many of Raymond's fans would've been
like little losties, without any clue as to where to find
Raymond's news. FL kept us informed and updated for a total of
2 years. It officially closed on the 21st August 2006, but I
would still always remember it.
52raymond.com, also known as the Lam House.
It was my source of Raymond's media. The fans
there updated new clips or songs of Raymond's very quickly. It
was a brilliant forum, a true home to Raymond's fans. It
officially closed on the 1st September 2006, but I would still
always remember it.
Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the
Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with
translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics
and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in
The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
