Raymond Lam Wants a Holiday | Saturday, August 12, 2006

Sing Pao

Earlier Raymond who has finished with "Love's New Breath" had start working on TVB Lau Ka Ho's 40 episodes in Hong Kong. Even though he's a guest star in the series, but he still has a lot of lines to memorize. Plus, he haven't had a vacation for a long time. After going to the Harbin Ice Light Festival, he wanted a vacation even more.

Raymond Lam earlier took time to go to City Plaza for the Harbin Ice Light Festival saying that he had never try to take a break during busy days. Inside the Ice Light Festival, the temperature drops to only 5 degrees (Celcius), so everyone who enters must where a heavy jacket. He not only closely looked at ice lights that were carved into different shapes but also went into the ice houses and sat on top of the ice sleds. It made him hope to go to places with snow. Raymond who loves excitement also tried going down the ice slide, making him turn into a big boy, playing it over and over again.

In the plaza, there were 16 groups of different shapes, and color ice lights, and they show China's culture, even Raymond praised that they were beautiful. The ice lights include Hong Kong's representive Ice Bauhinia, Olympics rings of 2008, spaceships, and the Ice Forbidden City, etc. Because Ron Ng was in "Lost Chamber Of Love", once Raymond saw the guy from Xi Xiang, he immediately said, "That must be Ron Ng!", causing others to laugh. Being inside a fun place, Raymond thought about his childhood. "Since my family wasn't wealthy when I was young, I couldn't buy expensive toys, so I loved to play grasshopper battles and beetles. Everytime we eat watermeleon, I would use to watermelon skin to help catch beetles. I also loved Happy Playland(I think that was it...don't remember), playing bowling, and horse racing, but now I don't have a lot of time to play." After going to the Ice Light Festival, he wants to go to Harbin to experience the Ice Light Festival there.

Then he must really want a long vacation? "Yes, before I was too busy filming series and never have to time to take a break, so I really want a vacation to go travel to different places> I love crazy roller coasters, etc. My favorite is the theater chair that moves." And said the first time a girl who comes up to him was when he was around a teenager's age, "I remember one time I was going to Korea with my family at the amusement park. I went to line up with my uncle for tickets and a Korean girl suddenly talked to me, but because I didn't understand her, so I only said sorry. Afterwards, she left with embarassment. It was the first time a girl ever flirted with me." Besides Harbin, Hokkaido(Japan) is also his choice of places he wants to visit, because enjoying spa and seeing fireworks has always been his dream. He believes that he can enjoy life while being relaxed.

Speaking of his favorite toys, he exclaimed that his favorites are Gundam models and Kubrick, and a lot of other toys. Even though he only collects special editions of Gundams, a lot of fans still give him other models, Now that there are a few boxes of figures, he designed a whole display case for his collections. He jokes that after arranging his collections, his house will turn into a shop.

Raymond was never relaxed from filming series, working day and night. However, once he sees tv shows that introduces new amusement parks and places, his eyes would shine and his heart would jump into the television; hoping to be with his friends. Sadly, Raymond must work and give up his fun time, of course he knows what he really needs and really cares. Playing is fun, but Raymond still chooses to work hard and then play!

The Beehive thanks ...
Fung's Label, Raymond's previous official website and its webmistress, Sasa, for providing so much of Raymond's news and information. Without FL, many of Raymond's fans would've been like little losties, without any clue as to where to find Raymond's news. FL kept us informed and updated for a total of 2 years. It officially closed on the 21st August 2006, but I would still always remember it.

52raymond.com, also known as the Lam House. It was my source of Raymond's media. The fans there updated new clips or songs of Raymond's very quickly. It was a brilliant forum, a true home to Raymond's fans. It officially closed on the 1st September 2006, but I would still always remember it.

Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
