Heart of Greed: Book of Heavens

“Home” should be a place where warmth resides. “Family love” is the basis on which a family depends upon. But things such as riches, power and benefits have influenced people of the modern society wrongly. Love for family can be forgotten, people can become arrogant and conceited and the cases of families fighting and being brought to court can be found from time to time in newspapers … becoming enemies with each other for the family assets, hating each other, and making one sigh, “Why?”

The big family that run the shop selling seafood in Seung Wan is one of the rare families in this society who have conserved the traditional views of family. Originally, this family was harmonious, with kind fathers and filial sons, brothers like friends, but as soon as the “supporter” of the family passes away, a split beyond repair appears within the family, dividing them into two groups of people, fighting for the assets, and the ugliness of human nature is revealed.

The words “Tong Sum” in the Chinese title “Tong Sum Fung Bo” is referring to the abalone called Tong Sum. A warm and loving family like the Tong Sum abalone is not easy to get. It must go through a lot of processing, with many different ingredients to be added and a lot effort and patience is required. A family’s love is the same. They must experience all sorts of different situations and tests before the true love can be revealed.

Ching Leung (Justin) – played by Raymond Lam (about 27 years old)

Personality: Young and successful, enthusiastic, deeply believing that Law is fair. He would not necessarily help the rich people, believing that only the right people will win. He is a person full of self-confidence, arrogance, displaying a winner’s attitude. From the eyes of a stranger, he is a playboy with a handsome face, changing girlfriends quickly, but the loneliness he feels he could only keep in the innermost him. He only wants to find a woman who will understand and support him.

Background information and experiences: When Justin was in University he had already become tomorrow’s star, with a certain charm about him with his every move. After his graduation, he became a young lawyer who specialised in helping the poor. Due to the fact that Justin was rarely defeated since he started out, he caught the interest of the boss of a law firm and hence becoming partners. And it was at this time that Justin met Seung Joi Sum (Linda), and fell in love.

Joi Sum had always thought that although she was very happy with Justin, but the “security” was lacking, because Justin always hid his feelings and never shared them with her, and she didn’t have too much hope in this relationship. Later, Justin was to fight in an important court case, Joi Sum was worried about Justin and secretly went to view the case. In the end, Justin lost, and knowing that Joi Sum had seen him defeated, he suddenly decided to break up. Perhaps it was just anger, but the love that Joi Sum expected was too much. Justin felt that he couldn’t live up to these expectations. This was the first time the two of them broke up.

After Justin’s mother passed away, Joi Sum was there to comfort the grieved Justin. She realised that his relationship with his mother had never been good. His childhood was lonesome and he had slowly become uncommunicative, keeping everything to himself. Perhaps it was because Joi Sum still liked him, or perhaps it was because she was sympathetic of Justin’s childhood, but Joi Sum and Justin went out once again and the sparks of love reignited.

Joi Sum thought she could finally be with Justin, that she was a fortunate woman. But then a huge change occurred within the Tong family. Joi Sum and An (Moses) were together frequently and developed some small feelings. Justin also realised this point; Joi Sum’s path of love was a two-way road. Even though Justin loved Joi Sum and loved her the most, but he couldn’t just one, and who knows how what path Justin’s love will take.

Jamie: Raymond's character sounds so hot ^____^;; I really don't like his hair though =.="

The Beehive thanks ...
Fung's Label, Raymond's previous official website and its webmistress, Sasa, for providing so much of Raymond's news and information. Without FL, many of Raymond's fans would've been like little losties, without any clue as to where to find Raymond's news. FL kept us informed and updated for a total of 2 years. It officially closed on the 21st August 2006, but I would still always remember it.

52raymond.com, also known as the Lam House. It was my source of Raymond's media. The fans there updated new clips or songs of Raymond's very quickly. It was a brilliant forum, a true home to Raymond's fans. It officially closed on the 1st September 2006, but I would still always remember it.

Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
