Credits to Raymond's Forest for the news

TVB have recently been working hard to break into the Mainland market, with the production department’s high-ranking Tommy Leung to work with CCTV on a 60 episode series that is to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the handing over of Hong Kong back to China. CCTV has decided for Raymond Lam to take on the leading role and filming will begin next month. Raymond, who is currently working on Producer Lau Ka Ho’s Sweetheart Tempest, has sadly been caught in the middle of this tug of war. The two producers are fighting over Raymond and would not come to an agreement. TVB’s high executive Stephen Chan has been alerted of the matter and has opened a pathway, that way, Raymond can be free of worries.
A Step into the Past was Raymond’s breakthrough in his early years in the entertainment industry, gaining fame from the series. Plus, with his fluency in Mandarin, no wonder he was chosen by CCTV earlier to work with the famous Mainland actress, Tammy Chen, on series The New Breath of Love. Raymond was in Shanghai promoting said series earlier and was greatly approved of by the Mainland citizens. CCTV is very pleased with Raymond’s performance and decided for Raymond to be the number one lead of the tenth anniversary series. Accordingly, the other Hong Kong actors of the cast would include Jessica Hsuan, Charmaine Sheh, Myolie Wu, Ron Ng, Joe Ma and others; they have definitely sent out all of their best. Alerting the Executive
This commemorating series of the handover has been seen as the main focus of TVB in 2007, and besides shooting in Hong Kong and Beijing they will also have to travel afar to shoot in Canada. The budget for this series is big; this series will also be airing together in Hong Kong and Mainland. Knowing that this series will be able to increase his status in the Mainland, Raymond naturally is not going to miss this rare chance.
In order to be able to start filming the series next month, Tommy Leung’s subordinate Poon Ka Tak has been rushing the filming. Raymond, who is currently rushing to complete the filming of Sweetheart Tempest, has become the person to be handed over. Sweetheart Tempest is a forty-episode series that only began filming at the end of last month with Lau Ka Ho as the producer. If Raymond had to be let go early, they first would have to fit four months’ worth of filming into just three months, crazily filming non-stop day and night. Because of this, Lau Ka Ho is concerned that the quality of the series would be affected and declined Tommy Leung’s request to let Raymond go.
In the end, both producers were fighting over Raymond but couldn’t get him, therefore, they reported it to TVB’s high executive Stephen Chan. Due to the fact that the sixty-episode series is importantly meaningful, Stephen Chan decided to go with the more important thing and Lau Ka Ho was forced to give way and let Raymond go a month early.
Last Thursday (7th), Raymond and Linda Chung were on the streets of North Point filming a kissing scene. Normally kissing pretty girls would be an enjoyable factor of life, but it was seen that on the night, because he was rushing to finish filming the series, Raymond didn’t even get a chance to eat his dinner. He could only hurry to a convenience store and buy a sandwich and eat it while trying out positions, without wasting a second.
Skipping the Filming of Scenes
M: Magazine R: Raymond
M: You’ll be filming TVB’s sixty-episode series, what would your character be?
R: This series will only start filming in October, and because some things have to be confirmed by CCTV first, I can’t say anything at this stage.
M: Next month is really quick, wouldn’t the filming times clash with this series?
R: Originally it clashed, so I had to hurry and film all over my scenes. It’s estimated I’d be done by October, and the whole series would be done by November.
M: Because of problems with your schedule, the two producers appeared to be fighting and Stephen Chan was even alerted of the matter.
R: Really? I’m not that sure. Earlier I was filming another series, and I only started filming this series last month, so I really don’t know.
M: Did Lau Ka Ho alter the script for you? Or cut some of your scenes so you could complete the filming faster?
R: Actually, at the moment I still don’t know how heavy my role is in this series. I only know that I have to finish filming it all by October because I have to start on the sixty-episode series.
M: Wouldn’t all the rushing make it very tiring?
R: It’s not really that tiring. Even if we were really busy, we wouldn’t film more than twenty hours. It’s only with the factors from outside and having to care about both things makes it a little tiring.
M: But I saw that you had to live on a sandwich for dinner, it was pretty sad!
R: I only didn’t eat because I had to hurry back to film in the studio, and I had to hurry home to change.
Not even daring to take any credit though he was being fought over, Raymond really knows how to be good; no wonder he was able to stay in the industry for so long!
The Two Golden Producers
Lau Ka Ho Occupation: Producer Boss: Tsang Lai Jan Representing works: The Gentle Crackdown, Koi Sai Ho Hap
Tommy Leung Occupation: Assistant Inspector General of the Production Department, in charge of many producers Boss: Virginia Lok Impressive History: Was once the producer of the hundred-episode series, At the Threshold of an Era, and also bravely used Raymond in A Step into the Past, knowing that he would be good to use.
Background
Raymond’s father Lam Wah Kwok is a millionaire in Xiamen, with the name of Xiamen’s Lee Ka Sing. The investments of Raymond’s father in Xiamen are well over four hundred million HK dollars and he was even presented with a reward for being a honourable citizen of Xiamen by the Xiamen Government. The area of the mansion adds up to five thousand feet, but even though Raymond’s family is rich, and his father knows Sir Run Run Shaw’s wife, the big shareholder of TVB, Raymond still said, “The only reason I entered the entertainment industry is because I wanted to choose a different path. If I were to depend on my family, why would I have needed to work from the bottom up?”

Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the
Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with
translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics
and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in
The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
