Hard To Forget Mom's Love Noodles; Raymond Cooks In Return May 12th, 2007 credits: wenweipao translated by: Vickie
Mother's day is coming up, as sons and daughters, everyone is showing their love to their mothers on this day. Lately, Raymond Lam who was a topic because of dating two girls in "Heart of Greed", says that he's been filming too long elsewhere, and haven't spend Mother's Day with his mother for a long time. Since this year he's having a break, Raymond learned to cook. Tomorrow's Mother's Day,and Raymond plan to cook for his mother as a surprise; this present is quite special.
This time, Raymond learned to cook a duck dish with yellow fungus, and the chef says that it's a good dish for ladies, because the fungus are specially imported into Hong Kong, and it's good for losing weight. Also, it is low-fat, low calories, so many ladies will like it. After listening to the chef's explaination, Raymond put on his apron and started.
Having Trouble With Cooking
Although Raymond looks tall and big, but he's very scared of boiled oil, so to have him put duck legs into the hot oil is a challenge. After a while, Raymond followed the chef's directions and put the duck legs in. About three minutes later, he collected the duck legs, and soaked the oil using a pieces of towels, and put the fungus on top, and cooked it. Finally, he added the white rice and red rice as the fried rice part, and put it next to the fungus and duck legs with sauce on top and vegetables on the bottom.
Finds Time To Gather
As an actor, Raymond Lam hardly sees his mother, but he tries to balance his jobs, and find time to meet with his mother. Even though his mother always fly between Xiamen and Hong Kong, but he still chooses to live with her, so they can see each other more. Whenever Raymond has time, he will find time to cook. They might be simple dishes, but his mother and him will eat together and talk. Being the eldest son, Raymond claims that his mother rarely worried about him, and his mother is very nice. Whenever he makes a mistake, she will never hit him nor yell at him, but instead explain to him his mistakes. Raymond explains that because his father's a good cook, his mother rarely walks into the kitchen, but he simply loves his mother's instant noodles. When reporters questioned what's special about instant noodles, Raymond laughs, "To tell you the truth, it's not very special, but maybe because it's cooked by my mother with her love. That's why it's extremely tasty, and this is called 'love noodles'."
Bought A Purse For Mother
Sons and daughters would buy presents for their mothers on Mother's Day, and so did Raymond. Before entering the industry, after Raymond having his first job, he bought a pruse for his mother for Mother's Day. But after his mother received the present, she took the product with the receipt and went out. When Raymond returned home, he saw a present on his bed. Mrs. Lam thought that the purse her son bought was too expensive, so she went back to the store to exchange for other and one of them was for Raymond. Mrs. Lam's action causes laughter, but to Raymond it's sweet, and it shows that his mother always puts him first.
This Mother's Day, besides cooking for his mother, Raymond also bought his mother a bag. Raymond says, "I remembered when I shopped with my mother, she saw a bag that she praised and loved, so I kept it in mind, and bought it for Mother's Day." A son with such a thought, I'm sure Mrs. Lam will love it. In the future, Raymond also hopes to find time to travel to Japan with his family.

Raymond's news. FL kept us informed and updated for a total of
2 years. It officially closed on the 21st August 2006, but I

52raymond.com, also known as the Lam House.
It was my source of Raymond's media. The fans

Vickie. She's my beautiful Net friend with a strong command of the
Chinese language and very frequently she helps me with
translations. She's also excellent when it comes to graphics
and even though I haven't actually used any of her graphics in
The Beehive, I still thought that it was worth mentioning.
